An infographic is a graphical representation of a message, using elements such as graphs, icons and illustrations to tell a story or bring otherwise dull or complex ideas to life. They work particularly well for content such as statistics and where relationships are being shown between different elements.

Infographics therefore come in all shapes and sizes, limited only by the imagination of the designer. Yet all infographics share a common goal and purpose in life: to communicate messages in an engaging, stimulating and informative way.
It is surprising then that more businesses and PR experts are not making use of this fantastic new tool. After all, what could better represent your brand than a really well made and informative infographic? Here are three reasons to use infographics:
The job of a journalist is not an easy one; a situation which is no doubt exasperated by the mounds of dull press releases that land on their desks every day. So make your favourite journalist happy with an eye-catching and informative infographic! It’s sure to catch their attention and might even have them coming back for more in the future.
Infographics have the potential to give a far clearer explanation of complex information than the written word could. Visually stimulate those editors whilst showing off your knowledge; if your infographic is done well, they won’t be able to refuse featuring it on their website/in their magazine/on their blog.
No one wants their brand to appear stuck in the past. Show journalists and editors that your company is moving with the times by providing them with an awesome infographic – it will also make their publication look good when they feature it, so how can they refuse?
The viral potential of a good infographic can also not be ignored; people will share your content across the web providing it looks good and works well, thus giving you a great return on your initial investment.
