Chris Barling is chief executive officer and co-founder of ecommerce and EPOS solutions vendor, SellerDeck. He is co-author of 'Selling Successfully Online – over 120 top tips for running an ecommerce website'. Chris co-founded SellerDeck in 1996 with serial entrepreneur Kevin Grumball. The company went through rounds of business angel and VC funding before going public in 2000 on the London Stock exchange, and returned to private hands in a management buyout in 2002. SellerDeck powers more UK e-stores than any other company, and has more than 10,000 customers in 40 countries.
Chris has a first class honours degree in computer science from Brunel University, and more than 30 years' business experience. His previous positions include IT director at GLS, the UK's largest educational supplier, chairman of Internet Policy Group at Cable & Wireless and business analysis manager at Reuters. Like many SellerDeck staff, Chris works remotely from his own home, which in his case is in south Devon. His hobbies include walking and sailing. He is married with three children.
