About the expert

Anne is a psychologist with a background in marketing and business communications, who has fulfilled management roles in marketing and communications, latterly with IBM. Her career changed when, as a freelancing marcomms professional, she was asked to edit a large public sector bid and recognised a need for training and mentoring in the developing area of competitive tendering. She founded Calyx Communications Limited to do just that. Now she helps clients to win business in a variety of industries across Europe by sharpening their mental attitudes towards bidding and recognising that a bid is a marketing campaign designed to make customers want to do business.

Anne's clients range from SMEs to multinationals in commercial and public sectors, operating in areas as diverse as pharmaceuticals marketing, civil engineering, IT, automotive and banking. She's passionate about the mental aspect of bidding (which is where she uses her qualifications in psychology and neuro linguistic programming) and about getting management to measure success by profitable business won rather than number of bids submitted.
